Description

With the sensory excitements in the city, sometimes we unconsciously numb our senses when relating to our surroundings. Join Maggie Lin for an intimate, urban sensory journey to rediscover our deep connections - within, with each other, and with the world around us.

Starting with a short meditation, we come back to the present and awaken our five senses. Let our senses take the lead, we go on an exploration and rediscover our curiosity, sensitivity and trust.

Inspired to introduce well-being creatively in the urban/ cultural space, Maggie creates sensory experiences. She cofounded a city perfumery nose hk, on smell and emotions, inspired by Hong Kong’s history as an incence producer. She also teaches yoga and shares the jewels of mindfulness.

She is a certified yoga teacher (YTT200) and also trained with the Oxford Mindfulness Centre in the UK and Hong Kong Center For Mindfulness.

Since young, she aspired to “saving the world”. After working in the United Nations and various non-profits and social innovation organizations, it came to her that change has to come from within, and from the self to others; thus shifting her focus on well-being.

Ten years ago, Maggie began practising yoga after retiring from junior tennis, and yoga also became the topic for her Anthropology Master thesis. She is featured in a documentary Creativity Is, on creativity in everyday life. She shares her practice through partnerships with organizations such as Aesop, eslite, Hong Kong Arts Centre, Hong Kong Cancer Fund, Easyoga, General Assembly, Mr. Green Juice, Ednovator, new life 330 (under the New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association).

Maggie’s family name, Lin () means “to connect”, same meaning as the Sanskrit word for yoga, “yuj”.
